Welcome to Northern Lights Rats

Northern Lights Rats is home to my rat care website. Currently, my rats are enjoyed purely as pets, however, I am also interested in genetics and breeding so have included some information on that too. I am based in Wick, in the Scottish Highlands.

I chose the name Northern Lights because I wanted something to reflect my position on the map! At first, I was going to use the Gaelic translation, however, I wasn't sure how to pronounce it, and I think Northern Lights sounds good anyway, and I have been lucky enough to have seen them 3 times!

I am a member of the National Fancy Rat Society (NFRS) and the Scottish Rat Club (SRC) and hope to obtain some rats in the future of show quality so i can start showing them in the varieties classes.
